Verdict

Leo's Loo Too throws more hardware at odor than anything else that still takes ordinary bags — UV sterilisation, an active deodoriser and carbon filtration in one drawer. If smell is the problem you are actually trying to solve and you do not want to be locked into film cartridges, this is the most direct answer. The app is the weak link and feels a generation behind.

Cleaning

Good and consistent, with a fully enclosed 6 L waste drawer. That drawer is smaller than most of its rivals, so expect to empty it more often than the 9-11 L boxes. Casa Leo recommends clumping clay litter specifically.

Odor control

The best odor result of any box here that still takes ordinary bags. UV sterilisation, an active deodoriser and carbon filtration together keep a two-cat room acceptable well past a week. Only the heat-sealing PetSnowy beats it.

Safety

Infrared, weight sensing and anti-pinch reverse. The standard three layers, competently implemented, with a slower cycle than most that adds a margin of forgiveness.

Noise

Casa Leo rates it at about 30 dB. That is a manufacturer claim rather than a measurement of ours, but it is one of the few figures anyone in this category publishes at all, and it points at a deliberately slow, quiet cycle.

Setup

Around fifteen minutes and genuinely simple — the globe seats without fuss and the app pairing is one of the more reliable here. The UV module needs no user setup.

App

Functional and a generation behind. Cycle control, a fill indicator, basic weight logging and scheduling all work, but the interface is dated and the notification handling is coarse. It is the weakest part of an otherwise strong product.

Consumables

Standard kitchen bags plus a carbon filter, around $80 a year. Combined with the UV module this is the cheapest strong odor solution to run.

Long-term cost

Fifty dollars less than the Litter-Robot 4 to buy and similar to run. If odor is your actual problem rather than app polish, it is the better spend.
